§ 10-4. Domestic animals running at large prohibited.

  • It shall be a violation of this chapter for any person owning, keeping, possessing, harboring or maintaining a domestic animal to cause, allow or permit such animal to run or be at large upon any street, alley, thoroughfare, sidewalk, or public place within the corporate limits of the city, or on the premises or lot other than that of the person owning, keeping, possessing, harboring or maintaining the animal. The provisions of this section notwithstanding it shall not be a violation of this section for anyone to engage in the training of a dog for the purpose of hunting game birds or wildfowl provided that the dog responds to command to return to the person performing the training.
