§ 2-138. [Establishment of the department of economic development.]

(a)

There is hereby established department of economic development with a director who shall be appointed by the mayor. The salary for this position shall be set by the city council as deemed appropriate.

(b)

The director will be responsible for seeking development opportunities for the city, including, but not limited to, establishing a network of communications with potential commercial, industrial and service agencies through all available means including advertising and attendance at various commercial seminars and gatherings. To this end the director shall utilize all available resources including government agencies and other private and semi-private organizations such as the chamber of commerce.
